Ajbwc Launches The Community Initiative "Sports Platform"

The Ajman Business Women Council (AJBWC) launched the "Sports Platform" initiative with a view to providing various programs, activities, and services in the field of public health throughout the year, as well as to enhance the participation in local, regional, and international health and sports events, in cooperation with the Citizens Affairs Office in Ajman, and in a strategic partnership with the Thumbay Hospital University and the Body & Soul Health Club. This Platform was launched during a press conference held at the AJBWC headquarters, in the presence of Dr. Amna Khalifa Al Ali, Chairwoman of the AJBWC and a Board member of the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Dr. Nora Sultan Al-Marzooqi, Mona Saqr Al Matrooshi, and Wafa Hassan Al Shamsi, AJBWC Board members, Maysoon Essam, Deputy Director of Public Relations at the Thumbay University Hospital, Ghada Barakat, Director of the Body & Soul Health Club, and a number of journalists and media representatives. During the Press Conference, Dr. Amna Khalifa stressed the AJBWC's keenness to launch and implement qualitative and specialized initiatives that serve the AJBWC members and society members and keep pace with the AJBWC objectives. She also praised the diversity of the AJBWC's partnerships with various government and private entities, enhancing these initiatives' success and sustainability. Dr. Khalifa pointed out the importance of the "Sports Platform" initiative and its objectives in spreading a culture of health preservation, emphasizing the importance of sustaining women's physical and psychological health, supporting healthy food entrepreneurs who have Bidayat license, and raising awareness of the importance of making sport a lifestyle and building effective community partnerships in the field of health and sports. For her part, Dr. Nora Al-Marzooqi revealed the launch of the Initiative's first program "Live it Healthy", which is a community program to raise health awareness and improve lifestyle through the participation of a number of women in an integrated health program that includes medical examinations and nutritional and sports programs to reach the ideal weight and improve their health. She explained that the program includes "medical examinations for all participants, advice by a nutritionist, making a nutritional program, setting plans to start exercise and interactive classes with the help of trainers and specialists, providing lifestyle management courses and common misconceptions about weight loss, coupons and discounts on healthy meals to support female participants. Dr. Al-Marzooqi briefed the attendees about the implementation stages of the "Live it Healthy" program. The first stage includes the registration of female participants for a month (June 1 - 30, 2022), via the ACCI website (ww.ajmanchamber.ae) or by contacting the AJBWC. This will be followed by the stage of selecting female participants through a committee including representatives from the entities responsible for implementing the program, then the third stage of implementing the training and awareness aspect for female participants for a period of 6 continuous months. However, the program concludes with the fourth stage and the announcement of the most successful and committed female participants in implementing the “Live it Healthy” program. Maysoon Essam thanked the AJBWC for implementing creative initiatives that contribute to community happiness and increase the quality of healthy life for women, and stressed that the Thumbay University Hospital is keen to diversify its societal contributions in cooperation with the concerned authorities. The “Live it Healthy” program represents a clear embodiment of community contributions outreach implemented by the Hospital throughout the year. For her part, Ghada Barakat explained that the Body & Soul Health Clubs will be keen to provide the possible support to ensure the success of the program and achieve its desired goals, and work to educate its female members about the importance of improving the lifestyle and achieving the ideal healthy weight. At the end of the program, Dr. Amna Khalifa invited all women to apply for the “Live it Healthy” program and take advantage of the package of provided services and advantages, noting that the program has a direct role in improving the physical and psychological health of its recipients, which positively and directly affects the projects' performance of the female participants. She also thanked all the entities responsible for implementing the program, as it is the first initiative of the "Sports Platform". in addition, she thanked journalists and media representatives for their attendance and contribution to the success of the AJBWC's initiatives.
