Dr. Amna Khalifa Al Ali, Chairperson of the Ajman Businesswomen Council – Board of Directors Member of the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, revealed that the Council intends during 2021 to launch initiatives and projects that serving its members, in addition to diversifying partnerships with government departments and private sector companies to ensure the provision of services meeting aspirations of entrepreneurs in general. This came during the first meeting of the AJBWC for 2021 that was held virtually to review the recent developments, key projects and initiatives in the presence of all members of the board of directors. At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Amna praised the contributions of businesswomen to the GDP, which reflects the directives of the leadership to provide an economic climate that ensures the sustainability and growth of the projects of the female entrepreneurs. The attendees were briefed on and approved the minutes of the previous meeting. This was followed by discussing the strategic plan of the Council and the most effective initiatives that it carries out annually to serve its members. Among those initiatives is “Saiyarti” though which a zero-interest auto-loan with registration and insurance is provided for the initiative’s beneficiaries. It aims at empowering women benefiting from the initiative to start their own business. Another initiative that is called “Raiyoqi” allows licensed members to offer food and beverages to employees of government and private companies from among the Council's partners. The AJBWC also carries out “Rofoof” initiative that provides a marketing platform for businesswomen's products in an innovative way. The meeting also reviewed the initiatives that have been created in 2021, including the "Emarti Jameela” initiative in cooperation with the Department of Tourism Development in Ajman. It aims to organize heritage events and tourism tours in the emirate’s most prominent areas. The “Sale Point” initiative also aims to increase marketing channels for the Council’s members by providing them with value-added services. The "Ezraa’ wa Ohhsod" initiative aims to encourage businesswomen to engage in achieving self-sufficiency in agricultural products by providing appropriate support in terms of equipping greenhouses and optimally using the unused spaces in homes. The "Bedayat” e-channel aims at enabling the members to apply for Bedayat license online via the Council's website (bwc.ajmanchamber.ae) and more initiatives to be carried out by the AJBWC during this year.
