Ajbwc Organize A Ramadan Majlis Entitled “Woman And Business Sustainability”

The Ajman Business Women Council (AJBWC) organized a Ramadan Majlis entitled “Woman and Business Sustainability” as part of the Ajman Ramadan activities, with a view of highlighting future project trends and discussing the role of intellectual property and trademarks in project and product development. The Ramadan Majlis in the National Council in Al Raqaib area - Ajman was attended by H.E Dr. Amna Khalifa Al Ali, Chairwoman of the AJBWC, H E Maryam Al Mamari, Chairwoman of the Supreme Committee for Ramadan Activities in Ajman, H E Dr. Shafeeqa Al Ameri, Chairwoman of Emirates Association for Women Entrepreneurs, and members of the AJBWC's Board of Directors and a group of officials and representatives of government departments and agencies, entrepreneurship experts, male and female entrepreneurs, and those planning to implement special projects. At the beginning of the Majlis, Dr. Amna Khalifa welcomed the attendees and stressed the importance of the Ramadan Majlis and its role in opening an interactive platform between entrepreneurship experts and business owners, monitoring opportunities and components of project development, and the need for projects to keep pace with the UAE’s economic trends during the next stage. She stated that the AJBWC is keen to strengthen its awareness role in developing businesses and projects for business owners by educating them on tools for sustainability, business growth, and product development, noting that the Ramadan Majlis addressed three main axes that included “intellectual property, trademarks, and future projects.” She also explained that AJBWC, took the initiative, in cooperation with its partners, to register a number of intellectual properties for its members holding Bidayat license. Eng Sheikha Abdullah, an intellectual property expert and industrial property examiner, presented the first topic, “Intellectual Property,” and introduced the audience the meaning of intellectual property and the extent of the UAE’s interest in enacting laws in this field, which is reflected in the UAE’s leadership in the Global Innovation Index. She also provided an overview of the types of works and provided many examples of intellectual property, how to formulate an idea, how to protect it, and the difference between industrial property and intellectual property. For her part, lawyer Mahboba Baqer, an intellectual property and trademark expert, explained the trademark' history and its impact on the growth of companies, stressing that trademarks have a vital role in drawing the mental image of customers and embodying the quality, distinction, and development of the product. She explained the types of trademarks, including “service trademark, product trademark, sound trademark, and other types of trademarks.” The economic advisor, Salem Al Ghaferi, presented the third axis, entitled “Business Readiness for Future Projects,” and the importance of business owners directing themselves to invest and increase productivity in many sectors, including “AI, education, agriculture, health, the digital financial sector, industry, transportation, environment, and others sectors,” explaining that the UAE has provided the basic capabilities for easy start-up of private projects through federal and local government support institutions concerned with facilitating doing business and providing training, consultations, financing, marketing, and other capabilities. The Ramadan Majlis recommended the need to intensify efforts to guide business owners to benefit from registering intellectual property and trademarks, invest in innovative and future projects, and organize a series of specialized workshops and courses on how to choose successful projects At the end of the Ramadan Majlis, Dr. Amna Khalifa honored the speakers and thanked all attendees, stressing the importance of the Ramadan Majlis and providing a platform for exchanging developmental ideas.
