The Ajman Conciliation and Commercial Arbitration Centre, affiliated with the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), held its first meeting for 2021 to discuss the work progress, review achievements of the previous year, and to discuss the centre’s work plan for this and the efforts set to provide value-added services that serve members and customers of the Ajman Chamber. The virtually held meeting was attended by Mohammed Rashid Al Suwaidi, Deputy Chairman of the Ajman Conciliation and Arbitration Committee, along with members of the committee and Ahmed Khalifa Al Muwaiji, Secretary General of the Centre. The meeting reviewed mechanisms of the work progress of the Centre and the developments of the registered cases, as well as the outputs of the formed bodies. The attendees also discussed the amendment of the regulation of arbitration’s fees and the fees applied at the Centre. The amendment took into the changes imposed by the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, in a way that contributes to reducing the burdens on the parties to the cases and the Centre’s clients in general. The meeting reviewed the work of the bodies formed to settle the cases and the final draft judgments issued in some cases and previously issued by the formed bodies were reviewed. In addition, the reviewed the new applications submitted for affiliation with the Centre as arbitrators and experts. The attendees further discussed the regulation of the Centre’s procedures within the framework of continuous reviews to ensure the quality of performance and speed of procedure in accordance with the best practices followed. They stressed the need to strengthen partnerships with local and international bodies and institutions related to the field of arbitration and work to provide high-quality services for the clients.
