H.E. Eng. Abdullah Mohammed Al Muwaiji, Chairman of Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), chaired the second meeting of the ACCI Board of Directors for the year 2022, in the presence of H.E. Hamad Rashid Al Nuaimi and H.E. Sheikh Sultan bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Vice Chairman of the ACCI Board of Directors and the Board members, at the ACCI headquarters to discuss the progress of work and find out the latest updates and developments of the ACCI's existing and future projects and initiatives. At the beginning of the meeting, the Board members expressed their deep sadness and sorrow that afflicted the people of the UAE and the Arab and Islamic nations with the death of the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, asking Allah Almighty to bless the deceased with His great mercy and dwell in His vast gardens. The Board members affirmed that assuming the presidency of the UAE by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, may Allah protect him, completes the journey of giving, prosperity, and growth so that the UAE continues its comprehensive renaissance, achievements, and regional and global excellence in all fields. During the meeting, the members were briefed on the minutes of the first meeting of the Board of Directors for the year 2022, as well as the results of the first meeting of the Human Resources Committee for the year 2022 and its approval, as well as the ACCI's financial position during the period from January to April 2022. The Meeting has discussed the results of the meetings of the Excellence and Business Development Team and the ACCI's efforts to provide a supportive business environment, enhance the competitiveness of the Ajman economy, and increase its attractiveness. The attendees were also briefed on the functions and tasks of the committees of the ACCI Board members. The Board members reviewed the latest developments related to the progress of the Innovation Center project and the great support it provides to male and female entrepreneurs and business owners. H.E. Abdullah Al Muwaiji explained that the ACCI is keen to keep pace with the UAE leadership's directives in the field of innovation and provide means and tools for individuals and institutions, and that they should rely on the innovative approach as a basis for the future economy, considering that the ACCI Innovation Center will be a qualitative leap in supporting the field of innovation and its position in Ajman. On the results of the report on the participation of the ACCI in the Expo 2020 - Dubai, the Board members confirmed that the Expo 2020 contributed mainly to the discovery of new foreign markets and the increase of economic cooperation opportunities with more than 190 countries. This began to be reflected in the increase of certificates of origin and their values, The attendees praised the ACCI's efforts in highlighting the economic and commercial capabilities of Ajman, shedding light on the Ajman potentials and the available investment opportunities, consolidating relations, diversifying partnerships with participating world countries, delegations and economic entities, and opening channels for the ACCI registrant establishments to conclude deals and learn about new markets. The ACCI signed 11 cooperation agreements with a number of countries and economic delegations participating in the Expo 2020, in addition to participating in 53 economic forums and conferences during the Exhibition. It was able to persuade 15 economic delegations from Expo 2020 to visit the emirate of Ajman, discuss opportunities for cooperation and partnership, and discover new markets. ACCI also organized 5 qualitative economic forums with many countries to review investment opportunities and ways to increase the volume of intra-trade, in addition to participating in 267 economic events and a meeting held by the ACCI at the Expo 2020.
