Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) received H.E. K. Candra Negara - the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Dubai, to discuss ways of economic cooperation, review opportunities for developing bilateral trade, and identify investment opportunities available in the two countries. The delegation was received at the ACCI’s headquarters by Mohamed Ali Al Janahi, Executive Director of the Trade Development and International Relations, Nasser Al Dhafri, Executive Director of Member Support and Innovation, and Khaled Al Shamsi, Director of the Economic Studies Administration at the ACCI. The delegation included Dr. Ahmad Saleh Kusnowibowo, the Consul for Economic Affairs, Muhammad Khomaini, Director of Indonesia Trade Promotion Center in Dubai, and several officials and business owners from the Republic of Indonesia. The visit is a part of the Ajman Chamber's keenness to diversify its external partnerships and open new horizons to increase economic cooperation, which goes along with the ACCI's efforts to enhance the sustainability and growth of the business community, diversify the potentials of competitiveness, and create the future of business. At the beginning of the meeting, Mohammed Al-Janahi welcomed the attendees and praised the depth and strength of the relations between the UAE and Indonesia, stressing the importance of the meeting and how it pays a vital role in strengthening economic ties between the emirate of Ajman and Indonesia and discussing the development of trade exchange and available investment opportunities. He gave the attendees an overview of the competitive advantages of the Ajman economy and the efforts of the concerned authorities to provide a flexible economic environment characterized by easy and quick procedures. He stressed the importance of exchanging visits and holding forums between business owners and traders from the both countries in order to provide opportunities for partnership, cooperation, and exchange of experiences, with the aim of strengthening economic ties between Ajman and Indonesia and opening new horizons for cooperation in all sectors, including "industrial, commercial, tourism, educational, health, ... etc." The meeting included an overview of the industrial sector in the emirate of Ajman and the extent of the diversity and quality of local products, so that the industry is the main gateway to increasing future cooperation and the growth of trade exchange between the two parties. Ajman Chamber is keen to diversify the participation of its member establishments in foreign exhibitions, which opens up prospects for participation in exhibitions held in Indonesia. The Indonesian side was invited to participate in the Ajman International Education and Training Exhibition (AETEX 2023) and to provide a platform through which universities from the two countries meet to discuss partnership and cooperation in the educational sector. On his part, H.E. K. Jandra Negara thanked the Ajman Chamber for the warm welcome, and stressed that the diversification of the economic components in Indonesia and Ajman will directly enhance joint cooperation and increase the volume of trade between the two sides. He also invited the Ajman Chamber to participate in the Trade Expo Indonesia to be held in October 2022 and provide the opportunity to meet business owners from both countries. At the end of the meeting, the attendees exchanged shields and souvenirs. The attendees recommended the necessity of exchanging trade delegations and visits and holding joint meetings to enhance channels of economic cooperation.
