The Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) is participating in the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS), which will be held during the period of 7 - 10 September 2022 with the participation of more than 1,900 companies around the world, as part of the ACCI’s plan to intensify the participation of its members in foreign exhibitions with a view to discovering foreign markets and discussing ways to form partnerships and exchange deals to increase the volume of foreign trade and to promote the potentials and investment opportunities available in the emirate. Abdullah Abdulmohsen Al Nuaimi, Director of Relations and Members Support Office, stated that the Ajman Chamber is participating with 6 leading factories from the food and beverage sector in this edition of the MIHAS, in order to achieve the ACCI’s objectives aimed at enhancing the sustainability and growth of the business community and diversifying the possibilities of competitiveness and leadership, in addition to the ACCI’s efforts in enhancing the exchange of experiences between business owners in Ajman and their counterparts from abroad. He explained that the food industry sector is one of the most promising sectors in the emirate and provides quality investment opportunities that promote the growth of the economic sector and contribute mainly to the national strategy for food security and ensuring the improvement of the quality of life. He also noted that the number of factories operating in the food and beverage sector in Ajman reached 34 factories during the year 2021, and the contribution of food and beverages sector to the total industrial output of Ajman amounted to 4% during the year 2021, with an annual growth rate of 29% compared to the year 2020, which reflects the successive growth of the food and beverage sector. Al Nuaimi stressed the importance of the MIHAS and its role in providing a global platform for discussing the latest developments in the food and beverage sector, production methods and packaging. It also opens prospects for partnerships between business owners and participating parties, as well as learning about best practices in the food and beverage industry. The Ajman Chamber strengthened its participation during the year 2022 by participating in the Egypt Petroleum Show "EGYPS 2022", and also participated with a delegation from the emirate's factories producing perfumes to participate in the activities of the "Cosmetista Expo North & West Africa - Casablanca". Abdullah Al Nuaimi added, "Ajman Chamber is keen to diversify its participation plan in abroad exhibitions during the current year, with the aim of enhancing the benefit of its member companies and factories, exploring new markets for national products, and opening new horizons of cooperation and partnerships between the private sector in the emirate with various countries, especially, as Ajman has more than 1,000 factories."
