Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) performed an evacuation drill for the Ajman Chamber's building in cooperation with the General Directorate of Civil Defense - Ajman, with the aim of increasing the level of readiness and raising awareness about dealing with fire accidents and first aid. Maryam Al Shehhi, Director of Finance Department in Ajman Chamber, stressed that the evacuation drill is part of a comprehensive awareness program that is implemented by the Ajman Chamber for its employees. This program includes a number of theoretical and practical workshops on the response ways during emergencies and crises to improve the work environment and ensure the protection of lives and property. She explained that the Ajman Chamber's emergency team includes three units comprising a group of the ACCI's employees who have been rehabilitated and trained in cooperation with the General Directorate of Civil Defense - Ajman and the concerned authorities. The emergency team includes the following unites: the "Firefighting Unit, Rescue & Evacuation Unit, and First Aid Unit". Al Shehhi pointed out that the evacuation drill aimed to test the alarms devices and the response of employees at the time of evacuation, within the approved internal plan for security and safety applications, and to measure the readiness of the emergency team and its implementation of safety standards at the time of accidents. She also thanked the General Directorate of Civil Defense - Ajman for their efforts in providing educational training courses for the emergency team of the Ajman Chamber, in addition to organizing evacuation drills that enhance awareness and preparedness for any emergency accidents.
