As part of the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (ACCI) efforts to strengthen its foreign relations and promote investment opportunities available in the emirate, H.E. Salem Al Suwaidi, Director-General of Ajman Chamber, received H.E. Norberto Carlos Escalona Carrillo, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in the UAE, with the aim of discussing joint economic and commercial cooperation and seeking opportunities for developing the volume of trade exchange between the two countries. The meeting was attended at the headquarters of the Ajman Chamber, Marwan Hareb Al Ariani, Director of the Promotion and International Relations Department at the Ajman Chamber, and Aileen Martinez Sardoy from the Cuban Embassy in the UAE. At the beginning of the meeting, H.E. Salem Al Suwaidi welcomed the attendees and stressed the importance of the meeting and its role in increasing the economic and commercial relations and cooperation between Ajman and Cuba and opening a channel for exchanging views on the implementation of joint activities and meetings. He also explained that the emirate of Ajman has a wide range of investment opportunities that attract investors in several fields, especially the industrial sector, in addition to the available opportunities in the fields of building, construction, real estate, trade, education, health, and other sectors, stressing that the Ajman Chamber is keen to provide all possible facilities to attract business owners from Cuba and increase partnership opportunities between business owners from the two countries. The two parties stressed the importance of exchanging information and data for the lists of exports and imports in both Ajman and Cuba to enhance the mutual benefit and open up new opportunities to increase the volume of trade exchange to serve the two countries. For his part, H.E. Norberto Carlos Escalona Carrillo thanked the warm reception and praised the diversity and momentum of Ajman's economy and the multiplicity of investment opportunities available, which enhances the opportunities for cooperation between Ajman and Cuba. He also gave the audience an overview of the most prominent sectors in the Republic of Cuba and the most prominent annual economic events. The attendees recommended the need to organize joint activities that include officials from government agencies concerned with economic affairs, business owners, and investors from both countries, as well as exchanging field visits to learn about available opportunities in various fields. At the end of the meeting, Salem Al Suwaidi presented the Ajman Chamber's commemorative shield to H.E. Norberto Carlos Escalona Carrillo, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in the UAE.
