Ajman Chamber Organizes The "Ajman-Turkey" Business Forum

The Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) organized the "Ajman-Turkey" Business Forum with a view to discussing the prospects for joint economic cooperation and building sustainable partnerships that contribute to the growth of the volume of intra-trade and mutual investments between the two countries, exchanging experiences, enhancing cooperation between business owners, and discussing investment opportunities available in both Ajman and Turkey. The Forum was attended by Jamila Kajoor, Director of the Promotion and International Relations Department at the Ajman Chamber, and the Turkish economic delegation was headed by Muammer Topsakal, a member of the Board of Directors of the Kayseri Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Turkey, in the presence of a wide group of business owners working in the food and beverage industry and trade sector from Ajman and Turkey in the participation of the Department of Economic Development in Ajman (Ajman DED), Ajman Free Zone, and the Ajman Tourism Development Department. Jamila Kajoor stressed the importance of the Forum and its role in strengthening relations and building sustainable partnerships between Ajman and Turkey, given the enormous potential in the various fields of “commercial, industrial, technological, tourism, educational, health, and other fields” in Ajman and Turkey, which provides qualitative opportunities for developing bilateral relations. She also said that the Forum, in general, embodies the Ajman Chamber’s efforts to develop a renewed global economic relations network that supports opportunities for expansion, business development, and promotion of the emirate as an ideal destination for investment. The emirate of Ajman possesses diverse economic components, including “free zones, a seaport, a road and transportation network, a distinguished strategic location, and infrastructure and services play a major role in the ease of doing business. Ajman also has competitive investment opportunities in various fields. Jamila Kajoor praised the durability and strength of the UAE-Turkish relations and their continued growth, stressing that the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the UAE and Turkey and its entry into force on September 1, 2023 opens a new phase of economic relations between the two countries. Moreover, she revealed the growth in the volume of cooperation and trade exchange between Ajman and Turkey, so that the total volume of trade between Ajman and Turkey increased during the first half of this year (H1 2023) by 8.4%, and the volume of re-exports also increased by 37% during the same period, and the number of members of the Ajman Chamber of Turkish nationality grew in H1 2023 by 20% compared to H1 2022. For his part, Muammar Topsakal thanked the Ajman Chamber for the warm reception and presented an overview of the commercial and industrial history of the city of Kayseri, the advantages of its geographical location, the ease of transportation operations, and the nature of the tourist city. He also provided a comprehensive explanation about the Kayseri Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Ajman DED, Ajman Free Zone, and the Ajman Department of Tourism Development provided comprehensive presentations on the emirate’s economic and investment capabilities and its distinction with a pioneering service structure that contributes to the ease of doing business. The Forum concluded with the necessity of exchanging visits in the presence of business owners, taking advantage of opportunities to participate in specialized exhibitions organized by both Ajman and Kayseri, and continuing to organize bilateral meetings in the future.
