Contribution Of The Education Sector To The Emirate's Gdp Reaches 2.8%

His Excellency Eng. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Muwaiji, Chairman of the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), emphasized the significance of the Ajman International Education and Training Exhibition (AETEX) and its pioneering role in advancing the education industry in the Emirate of Ajman in particular and the UAE in general. He highlighted that the AETEX has evolved into an international educational hub, fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and partnership building among participating universities and educational institutions. This, in turn, contributes to the development and modernization of specialized academic disciplines. Eng. Al Muwaiji explained that the exhibition serves as a platform for fostering direct engagement between high school students and those aspiring to enroll in specialized academic majors and high-quality university programs with university officials. This opportunity empowers them to learn about admission requirements, available scholarships, and the most prominent specializations that are aligned with labor market demands. Notably, the AETEX caters directly to high school students, particularly those in their twelfth grade, whose numbers in 2023 surpassed an impressive 46,000 students nationwide. Eng. Al Muwaiji expressed his admiration for the efforts of the organizers of the AETEX in attracting reputable universities that offer high-quality majors aligned with the UAE's aspirations for building a future economy, particularly in the fields of "artificial intelligence and technology, renewable energy and sustainability, advanced industries, health-care technology, educational technology, agricultural technology, financial technology, e-commerce, and other sectors." He also said, "The 11th edition of the exhibition, the increased number of participating universities, and the diversity of participating countries reflect the Ajman Chamber's efforts in embodying and translating the directives of H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the Union and Ruler of Ajman, and H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, to develop the education sector and increase direct investments in it as the main driver for the development of all sectors. He pointed out that the contribution of the education sector to the Emirate's GDP reached 2.8% of the total GDP, amounting to approximately 881 AED million. Eng. Al Muwaiji extended an invitation to all segments of society, including "students, parents, government, and private sector employees, teaching and administrative staff in schools and universities, business owners, and others," to visit the AETEX and take advantage of the grants, discounts, registration, and admission procedures, as well as participate in and benefit from specialized workshops.
