H.E. Eng. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Muwaiji, Chairman of the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), discussed with H.E. Abdulaziz Akkulov, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan, ways to strengthen economic relations and develop the volume of bilateral trade and investment opportunities between Ajman and Uzbekistan. This discussion was made during a joint meeting at the headquarters of Ajman Chamber in the presence of Mohamed Ali Al Janahi, Executive Director of the Member Support Services Sector, and Ali Rashid Al Kaitoob, Executive Director of the Studies and Investment Development Sector, at Ajman Chamber. At the beginning of the meeting, H.E. Abdullah Al Muwaiji welcomed the attendees and praised the strong relations and friendship between the UAE and Uzbekistan, which was reflected in the growth of trade volume between the two countries to reach AED 6.9 billion in 2023, with a growth rate of more than 85% compared to 2022. He stressed that the Ajman Chamber seeks to diversify the base of its international cooperation with a view to promoting investment opportunities in the emirate and demonstrating competitive capabilities in all sectors, discovering opportunities that support the development of the emirate's exports of local products, and exploring ways to participate in specialized international exhibitions and events. The delegation was briefed on the developments in the economic sector of the emirate and the promising opportunities available in the sectors of "industry, real estate, construction, tourism, education, health, services, trade, and others". The presentation also showed the emirate's pioneering capabilities in the ease of doing business and the emirate's enjoyment of an attractive and encouraging environment for the sustainability and development of private sector businesses. During the meeting, both sides discussed opportunities for joint cooperation in the tourism sector, particularly given the exceptional opportunities and advantages enjoyed by the two countries. The attendees also stressed the importance of cooperation and building partnerships in the energy sector. The attendees praised the development of economic relations between Ajman and Uzbekistan, as the volume of trade increased during 2023 to more than AED 148 million, with a growth rate of 278% compared to 2022. For his part, H.E. Abdulaziz Akkulov provided an overview of investment opportunities and distinctive sectors that support the consolidation of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Ajman, stressing the importance of Uzbekistan's geographical location and ease of doing business. He also extended an invitation to attend the Tashkent International Tourism Fair 2024 (TITF 2024), held in November 2024, which is one of the largest tourism exhibitions in the region. The attendees recommended the importance of coordinating specialized meetings and forums between business owners, universities, and health facilities to enhance partnerships and increase opportunities for growth in the volume of trade between the two countries. The Ajman Chamber invited the Uzbekistani delegation to visit Al Zorah area and learn about the available investment opportunities. It also provided an overview of the Ajman International Exhibition for Education and Training (AETEX) and discussed the possibility of attracting universities from the Republic of Uzbekistan to participate in the AETEX 2025. At the conclusion of the meeting, H.E. Abdullah Al Muwaiji, exchanged shields and souvenirs with H.E. Abdulaziz Akkulov.
