Abdullah Al Muwaiji, Chairman of the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stressed the importance of stimulating citizen entrepreneurs to invest in industrial activities and to take advantage of the various components and opportunities provided by the leadership, especially after the launch of the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology. This came during a virtual panel discussion chaired by him under the title "Proposed Industrial Activities for Entrepreneurs in the Emirate of Ajman", while attended by Mohammed Ali Al Janahi, Acting General Director, executive directors and the Chamber’s employees. The panel discussion is part a series of seminars that aim to explore the latest developments in the economic sector and to come up with constructive proposals and recommendations for upgrading the local economy and developing the work outputs of the Ajman Chamber. Al Muwaiji explained that the session comes within the framework of the Ajman Chamber's efforts to keep pace with the directions of the country and the emirate and their endeavor to promote the local industry. He also stressed the need of concerted efforts to provide the necessary ingredients that push entrepreneurs to engage in the industrial sector, which represents the lion’s share of contributions to the emirate’s GDP, according to the investment map of the Ministry of Economy. The metal products industry represents the top field in the emirate with 197 establishments, followed by the food and beverage industry with 172 establishments. The industrial activities that are commensurate with multiple floors were also reviewed based on a questionnaire to monitor appropriate industrial activities. According to Ajman’s vision, future investment will focus on manufacturing, tourism, transportation, storage, media and foreign vending industries. The proposal of the technical committee to adopt technological industries as one of the sectors that attract investments in the emirate was also reviewed. Manufacturing was also defined as industries that depend on converting raw materials resulting from extractive industries to a finished product. The attendees were further briefed on the most important products exported from Ajman to many countries, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt and others.
