The Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry has obtained ISO 22301-business continuity management systems, translating the efforts made to ensure the sustainability of business and to provide services that meet the aspirations of the Chamber’s members and customers. Salem Al Suwaidi-Director General of the Ajman Chamber received the ISO22301 certificate by Dr. Karima Abdulmoneim-Director General of the Sustainable Excellence Institute, on behalf of Gabriel Registrar-an internationally accredited certification body, providing assessment and management system certification, at the Chamber’s headquarters. Among the attendees were the executive directors and the business continuity management systems team. Al Suwaidi affirmed the Ajman Chamber’s keenness to adopt the best practices in its internal system in order to provide value-added integrated services, stressing the importance of obtaining ISO 22301 that would be enhance business continuity during crises and emergencies, since that the Chamber serves the business community, which necessitates continuity of services. He further explained that the Chamber was keen to adapt its electronic systems during the repercussions of the pandemic to ensure continuity of its services integrally, and obtaining the ISO 22301 certificate reflects the efforts made in managing the crisis. He praised the efforts of the work team in implementing a number of workshops and following up the procedures for obtaining the ISO 22301 upon which each department would be identified and classified with the development of business continuity strategy and crisis management plans, as well as raising awareness of employees and training them on crisis management plans. Salem Al Suwaidi also said that the Chamber is keen to keep abreast of the strategy of the Emirate of Ajman in particular and the country in general with the aim of avoiding any negative effects and turning challenges into factors and success opportunities. He further commended the UAE as an inspiring model in dealing with the repercussions of the pandemic.
