Ajman Chamber Discusses Opportunities To Enhance Economic Cooperation With Ethiopian Consulate

H.E. Eng. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Muwaiji, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ajman Chamber, received H.E. Zerihun Megersa Jima, Consul General of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. The meeting discussed ways to enhance economic and commercial cooperation and develop investments between the two sides. It also reviewed available opportunities in several vital sectors, most notably agriculture, industry, and tourism, in addition to opening new communication channels and encouraging partnerships between private sector enterprises in Ajman and Ethiopia. The meeting, held at the Chamber's headquarters, was attended by Aisha Al Khatri, Head of the Asset Investment Department at Ajman Chamber, and Asmelash Bekele, Deputy Consul General at the Ethiopian Consulate. The visit comes as part of the Ajman Chamber's efforts to enhance international cooperation to support the growth of trade exchange and boost investment attraction opportunities. These efforts align with the objectives of Ajman Vision 2030, which aims to establish a competitive business environment and an attractive investment climate, attract qualitative projects, and develop trade and logistics networks. At the beginning of the meeting, H.E. Abdullah Al Muwaiji welcomed the attendees and praised the UAE-Ethiopian relations, noting their development and growth across various fields. He emphasized the importance of enhancing communication between the two business communities to open new horizons for partnership and investment, and to capitalize on the promising opportunities in the UAE and Ethiopian markets. The Chamber provided an overview of the investment opportunities available across the industry, trade, tourism, education, health, and real estate sectors, in addition to highlighting the ease of doing business in Ajman and the premium services offered by the Ajman Free Zone Authority. The meeting recommended enhancing cooperation between the business sectors in Ajman and Ethiopia by organizing joint business meetings. These meetings aim to highlight available opportunities in agriculture and food industries, transport and logistics, mining, and renewable energy, thereby supporting the growth of trade exchange and investments between the two countries. For his part, H.E. Zerihun Megersa provided an overview of the agricultural sector as one of the most important sectors contributing to the Ethiopian economy, along with the diverse investment opportunities it provides. He also reviewed the key assets and opportunities within the industrial and tourism sectors, as well as ways to enhance cooperation and investment in these areas. At the conclusion of the meeting, H.E. Eng. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Muwaiji, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ajman Chamber, and H.E. Zerihun Megersa Jima, Consul General of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, exchanged commemorative plaques and gifts.
